And then all of the peaceful reflection ended as the Humvee started to overheat and I started to get blasted with hot air as the A/C was turned off and the heater turned on. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted and it wouldn’t be memorable if there weren’t a few bumps in the road...right?
Here are a few pictures of the journey.

Interesting pictures. While I'm super-excited that you're coming home, I know that you probably (hopefully) won't have an experience like this the rest of your life. I hope you always remember the good things from it. I'm sure you'll always look at people differently--better than before, I'm sure.
Love you lots,
Dad
i love you! i want to see YOU in some of these pictures.
Well, the journey in Afghanistan is almost over. In the many months you have been away from home and family, I have never read or heard a negative word. Your posts have been informative and uplifting. Your conversations the same. Thank you for your great example, for your love of country, and for your willingness to serve your fellowmen. I love you very much and I'm grateful for the privilege I have to call you my son.
Love, Mom
i always enjoy looking at the pictures you post. i really like the last one of the young man waving at the camera.
Justin,
I am a fellow FP headed to perform the same mission in another province. I have been following you for the past 3 months. You motivated me to keep track of this adventure with a blog as well. Your entries have served as good a turnover file as I could hope for. God's Speed and Protection as you return to your family.
